 I currently live in Woodside, CA but originally am from Wisconsin. My father is Norwegian and my mother Sweedish and you likely think there is no real difference between those groups but if you spent a Christmas eve listening to the two families arguing whether meat balls or lutefisk was appropriate for the noon meal, you would know different these groups perceive themselves to be. Cyndi, my partner of 20 years, and I live high in redwood covered hills with two wonderful kitties. I start my day careening down the hill avoiding bicyclists and skunks. I don't resent the skunks. On the weekends we either careen to Santa Cruz or spend it quietly drinking iced tea on the deck watching the hummingbirds and listening to the roar of motorcycles and the shouting bicyclists. I don't resent the motorcycles. I earn my keep as a manager of Information Technologists. That is: I am a computer geek. Or at least I hang with geeks. I've been working with Internet companies pre-millenium and for brick and mortar companies 15 years before that. Within six months of each other, my parents passed away suddenly and unexpectedly leaving myself and my two sisters orphans while we were only in our sixth decads. Ann, the oldest of my two younger sisters, lives in Minneapolis with Dennis. My other sister, Jane, lives in London with Ralph. Cyndi hails from the Louisville area but sadly she didn't inherit any stills or horses and has to earn a living like the rest of us .... Wait a minute! Cyndi earns a living?? Some things I like
